About the Multiomics Reading Group
At the crossroads of machine learning (ML) and the biological sciences, the Multiomics Reading Group explores the next frontier of foundation models (FMs) for multi-omics. Our mission is twofold:
ML Perspective: We dive into cutting-edge advances in FMs and downstream tasks—offering practical tips and real-world insights (what worked, what didn’t, and the hidden pitfalls).
Biology Perspective: We expand fundamental biological knowledge, highlight emerging data sources, and discuss real-world applications of FMs, from health and disease contexts to novel research directions.
Topics We Cover:
Tokenization, model design, pre-training and fine-tuning algorithms for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and beyond
Single-omics to multi-omics data integration
Downstream tasks and evaluations with real-world applications in mind
