Today's vast collections of knowledge and data pose many challenges in their organisation and processing. In biomedical research, modern technologies lead to a wealth of data of different kinds, but their retrieval and storage is often time-consuming. To tackle this problem, the BioCypher ecosystem provides frameworks for acquiring and processing knowledge for custom research solutions. In addition, the BioChatter framework, as a part of the ecosystem, provides connectivity of those knowledge stores to Large Language Model-driven workflows, facilitating the creation of custom solutions that increase accessibility of knowledge via natural language. All of these developments are aligned with open source philosophy, and several projects in drug discovery and molecular signalling are only just starting, so now is as good a time as ever to get on board.
