Conformational ensembles of the human intrinsically disordered proteome

Y'all know I love an IDP (intrinsically disordered protein). This study took ~20k human proteins, ran them through AlphaFold2 and selected intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) using low pLDDT confidence scores as predictors of disorder. They then did molecular dynamics simulations to generate conformational ensembles using CALVADOS, a coarse-grained model. They analyse the biological relevance of their findings, suggesting how sequence features relate to chain compaction, which has been linked to the function of IDRs.
